Shop our various collection of moccasins. Select from rabbit, mink, beaver or moccasins for any age group or lifestyle. We offer Handmade leather products crafted by Canadian people. Moccasins facts: Initially only rawhide from deer, elk, bison, less often beaver or other animals was used, but fairly early the Natives also began to use tanned leather. European settlers, for example in French Canada, also began to prefer the more durable calfskin. Originally moccasins were sewn only with an awl or piercing with veined threads, vegetable fibers, leather threads and straps, or they used needles of bone, wrought copper. Porcupine needles and plant thorns were also used . Later steel needles and factory thread appeared.
